Customer Service Manager Retires

NewsKayAnthony-M-J23

The District’s Customer Services Manager, Kay Anthony, retired from service with the District at the end of April.

Kay has been an employee of the District since 2012.  She began her career at the District in the Accounting Department, primarily handling accounts payable.  She was appointed to the Customer Services Manager position in 2015.

With an undergraduate degree in accounting, Kay brought a great focus on efficiency and an attention to detail in her approach to the job.  During her tenure, she brought the level of the District’s delinquent account balances down to the lowest levels in decades.  This was accomplished without losing compassion and understanding for those that struggle to pay utility bills.  Kay managed the customer service and billing functions through the difficult period of Covid-19, which included the transition of much of her staff to teleworking and a long moratorium imposed by Governor Inslee on normal account management activities. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment is the dedication she has been able to foster in the staff in her department to treating all customers with dignity and fairness.  She will truly be missed by all.

Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement Kay!
