WATER MAIN FLUSHINGS

Lakehaven schedules routine maintenance to help maintain water quality and identify potential vulnerabilities.

Lakehaven Water and Sewer District aka The District,  routinely schedules water main flushing in your area . This is done as part of a scheduled preventative maintenance program to help maintain good water quality and to identify valves and fire hydrants that may need repair in your neighborhood. Signs will be placed on street corners prior to and during our water main flushing activity in the neighborhoods where our flushing crews will be working. Flushing hours are typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

As Lakehaven Water and Sewer District flushes water mains in your area, you may experience a temporary reduction in water pressure but you will not have your water service shut off during the main flushing process. You may also see some harmless discolored water and/or mineral sediment when using cold water both during and after the flushing exercise. These conditions are temporary and normal during flushing activities and should clear up quickly. When our flushing crew is in your neighborhood, we recommend you refrain from washing laundry or using hot water. If you should experience any cloudiness or sediment in your water we recommend you flush the pipes of your home or business by opening an outside hose bib to irrigate lawn or shrubs until the water clears (usually only a few minutes) or flush your service pipes from other interior “cold” water taps.

Lakehaven does its best to complete flushing on a schedule (links below). The planned flushing areas give a four to six week window. The current flushing work area maps will detail work that will be done this week.  There can be delays when weather doesn't allow staff to stay on schedule. We will do our best to update the maps below to be as accurate as possible.
