2002 Budget Revision Public
Hearing
NOTICE
is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the Lakehaven Utility
District will conduct a public hearing on the 2002 Budget. The public
hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at 31531
First Avenue South, Federal Way, Washington, to hear public comments.
Notice is further given that the public
hearing agenda may be viewed at the District's web site,

MEETING AGENDA" area.
Lakehaven Utility District published a biennial budget for 2001-2002 in the
Fall of 2000. At the November 8, 2001 regular Board meeting, a public hearing
will be held to discuss a number of adjustments to this budget.
Several capital projects in both the Water and Wastewater funds were
deferred from 2001 to 2002 and beyond. The most notable of these is the
District's share of the Pipeline 5 construction project (approximately $10
million), which will be completed in cooperation with neighboring
municipalities. The District is in the process of obtaining a $10 million loan
from the State Public Works Trust Fund to help offset these capital
expenditures.
In the Fall of 1999, the District Board of Commissioners approved an 8%
increase in water and sewer rates, which would be effective through the 2002
fiscal year. Projected expenditures and fund balances for the 2002 fiscal year
indicate that the District's finances are healthy, and no additional rate
increases are contemplated.
