Comprehensive Water and Wastewater plans

The following are executive summaries from the District's 1998 Comprehensive Water System Plan and 1999 Comprehensive Wastewater System Plan. These plans are critical to allow for the orderly and logical expansion of the water and wastewater systems to meet changing area drinking water and fire suppression demands and wastewater system needs. These plans are updated on a periodic basis to reflect increased development within the District's water and sewer service areas, to identify the replacement of facilities whose service life is expiring, and to address the addition of new facilities. The plans also consider projected growth for the area and new direction in water and wastewater technology. The District's current Comprehensive Water System Plan incorporates population and employment data through 1997, which was analyzed to project future system expansion and impacts. Similarly, the District's current Comprehensive Wastewater System Plan incorporates the same population and employment data through 1997, which was analyzed to project future system expansion and impacts. For the Water Plan, the State Department of Health requires its update on a six year cycle. The King County franchise requires similar update cycles for the Wastewater Plan.
